Lesson 5 of 5

Keep it honest with customers

Reviews, photos and claims you can stand behind.

AI can write ten glowing reviews in a minute. Posting them is dishonest and, in the UK, illegal. It can also make product photos look like something they are not, and write claims about your service that you cannot support.

Use it to make true things clearer instead. A plain description of what you sell. An honest answer to a question you get every week. A returns policy somebody can follow.

If a customer would feel misled on learning how something was made, do not make it that way. That test is older than AI and still works.

  • Fake reviews are illegal, not clever.
  • Make true things clearer.
  • Would the customer feel misled?

BEEP / THE MYTH-BUSTER

I can generate you a glowing review in four seconds. Everyone can. That is precisely why nobody believes glowing reviews any more, and why yours has to be real.

Try it

Take the question customers ask you most, write a plain honest answer with the tool’s help, and put it somewhere they will actually find it.

A prompt to start from

Here is the question my customers ask most and my honest answer: [both]. Tidy the wording without making it sound like a brochure, and flag anything that now claims more than I said.

Then paste it into whichever assistant you use — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Copilot. Not sure which? Meet them all.

Check: Which use of AI is fine for a small business?

Nobody else can answer you, and you cannot answer anybody else. This is not a forum — we would rather say that than run a room we cannot watch at three in the morning.

Your question goes up with the answer and without your name. Nothing identifies you, ever.

If we cannot answer it we will tell you why, and that one stays between us.
